''Can't beet a beet'' Epic beetroot hummus with homemade flat breads.
This recipe is a great little snack for any occasion.

Here is what you will need for the hummas.
2 beetroots roasted & peeled (also, you can boil them if you like) 1 tsp toasted cumin seeds 1 clove of garlic 1tbs tahini (Sesame paste) Juice of 1 lemon Salt to taste
Pre-heat your oven to 180°c
Take 2 large beetroots & place them in a roasting dish with a pinch of salt & a drizzle of olive oil. Cover them with tin foil & roast for about 1 hour or until soft.
When the beets are cooked carefully peel off the outer skin. I usually let them cool for a few minutes so I don't burn myself.
Then take all of your ready ingredients & blend all together & season to taste.
Add some mix seeds & herbs you like. I think coriander goes very well with this little dish.
For the Homemade Flat breads
100g stone ground organic bread flour 100g stoneground organic wholemeal flour 130g water 4g salt
Mix well for a few minutes until the dough becomes less sticky & let rest for 10 minutes.
Pre heat a non stick pan or a griddle pan.
Roll out flat breads on a lightly floured surface into a nice round shape as thin as possible & cook in a hot dry pan. Once they are lightly golden brown on each side they will be ready to eat.
Enjoy.
