Homemade pizza dough.

This recipe is just for a simple pizza dough. I'll leave your favourite toppings up to your imagination.

Ingredients: This makes 2 pizzas

  • 300g bread flour or "00 flour"

  • 180g warmish water

  • 1tbs olive oil

  • 3g dry instant yeast

  • 6g sea salt

Super simple really!

Just mix all these ingredients together and kneed for about 5 minutes until it all comes together and has a smooth like appearance.

Place the kneaded dough in a bowl covered with a damp cloth or plastic wrap in a warm area for about 50 minutes to prove.

While proving the dough this is a good time to prepare your favourite toppings and preheat your oven on MAX. My oven only goes to 250°c if yours goes higher go higher.

Also preheat a pizza stone if you have one. If your like me and don't have a pizza stone a flat oven tray will do the job.

You just want to put the pizza on something ripping hot so you cook the bottom and the toppings at the same time. The idea here is to replicate a traditional pizza oven which cooks at about 350°c - 400°c.

After the 50 minutes place your dough on a floured work top and divide the dough in half and form the pieces into a round ball shape.

"TOP TIP" you can freeze this dough for future use if you want at this point.

Roll out the pizzas with a rolling pin into any shape you like really, thick or thin it's your pizza do what you like.

To build and cook a pizza at home I take out my super hot tray from the oven line it with baking paper.

Then I place my rolled out dough carefully on the paper lined baking tray then build the pizza with any desired toppings.

Remember, when it comes to pizza toppings less is more..

Doing it this way the pizza will start cooking on the bottom so it will avoid any soggy bottom.

All ovens are different so cook for about 10 to 15 minutes or until it looks good enough to eat.

That's it! Enjoy and Buon Appetito!!
